CRKT Shrimp – Designed by Gerry McGinnis Stainless Steel (1181) Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

We got a chance to check out Gerry McGinnis latest designed knife the CRKT Shrimp. The Shrimp is a small knife that hangs on your keychain. Unlike other keychain knives that can only be used as a glorified letter opener, the CRKT Shrimp functions just like its larger counterparts.

I have been looking for keychain knives for a long while but all I could find were small keychain knives that look good and function badly. The CRKT Shrimp changes things up with a solid build quality that rivals full size knives.

The CRKT Shrimp comes with a 1.75″ blade and a 2.5″ handle. The blade feels solid and thick and is made of premium 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. The blade easily opens with the CNC-milled nail notch. The metal handle adds to the solidly built knife. At the back of the device is a back spacer of moonglow plastic that glows in the dark. The Shrimp also features removable stainless steel pocket clip in bead-blast finish. Finally you will find a keychain loop that rotates out of the frame.

The CRKT Shrimp is a great keychain knife that can be your every day carry knife when your needs require it. The CRKT Shrimp comes in 5 different colors and would make a great gift for that Outdoorsman. The CRKT is available now for $19.99 at CRKT and select retailers.
